Quin Design is committed to your privacy and the protection of your personal data. This Privacy Statement describes the steps we take to secure your data and our practices as required by data protection laws. It applies where Quin Design is controlling the purposes and means of processing your personal data.

This Privacy Statement outlines how we collect, share, transfer, retain and protect your personal data and the rights you can exercise regarding your information. If you provide us with your personal data we treat your information according to this Privacy Statement.

 

INFORMATION COLLECTION AND USE

Quin Design, LLC and its affiliates, is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement.

Use of Personal Data


We use your personal data to:

  • provide the Automatic Data Collection Tools and Services;

  • monitor and analyse use of the Site or Services, for the technical administration of the Site or Services, and to increase functionality and user-friendliness, and to better tailor our Site or Services, to the needs of Quin Users;

  • manage your Account, including to communicate with you regarding your Account, if you have an Account on our App;

  • to evaluate and improve your riding experience;

  • to help you maintain your helmet;

  • to offer you opportunities and promotions that Quin believes would be of benefit to you;

  • respond to your comments and questions and to provide customer service;

  • send information including technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support and administrative messages;

  • maintain internal research and other marketing purposes, including e-mailing you with special promotions, other programs of interest and other news, including information about products and services offered by us and our affiliates, provided you have opted-in to receive such information. If the information is sent as part of a website evaluation, Quin may also use the information to contact you about your comments;

  • to prevent fraud or misuse;

  • to help protect the safety of other Quin Users;

  • to comply with legal requirements;

  • for related legitimate purposes as permitted by applicable law; or

  • as described in the “Sharing of Personal Data” section below.



Sharing of Personal Data


Quin will only share your personal information with third parties:

  • with your consent;

  • if Quin determines that it is required to do so by law; such as in response to a court order or subpoena;

  • if Quin finds that you are in breach of its terms and conditions or any of its policies or usage guidelines for specific products or services;

  • if it is necessary in Quin’s opinion to do so to prevent, investigate, detect or prosecute criminal offences or attacks on the technical integrity of the Site or Quin network;

  • if it is necessary in Quin’s opinion to do so to protect the rights, property, or safety of Quin or its employees, Quin Users, or the public;

  • if it is necessary to fulfil your product or service order. Quin uses a credit card processing company to process your credit card information as required for your order and to ensure that your transaction is secure. This processing company does not retain, share, store or use your personally identifiable information for any other purposes;

  • who provide services such as data analysis payment processing, information technology and related infrastructure provision, customer service, email delivery, auditing and for other similar legitimate purposes permitted by applicable law;

  • such as third party advertisers and advertising networks that require the data to select and serve relevant adverts to you and others; or

  • when we do a business deal, or negotiate a business deal, involving the sale or transfer of all or a part of our business or assets. These deals can include any merger, financing, acquisition, or bankruptcy transaction or proceeding.

ORDER

We request information from the user on our order form. Here a user must provide contact information (like name and shipping address). This information is used for billing purposes and to fulfill customer's orders. If we have trouble processing an order, this contact information is used to get in touch with the user.

INFORMATION FROM SOCIAL MEDIA CONNECTIONS


You may choose to enable or log in to Quin via various social media or social networking services such as Facebook or Twitter (“Social Networking Services”). When you connect your Account to a social media account, we collect certain personal information that you have provided to that Social Networking Service. For example, when you log in with your Facebook credentials, we may collect personal information from your Facebook profile, such as your email address, profile picture, and friend list.
Information Automatically Collected. When you access or use the Site, as a Registered Member or a non-registered user just browsing (any of these, a “Quin User”), we and third parties that provide certain functionality on our Site, such as Facebook, Twitter, and ad networks, may engage, receive, collect, and store certain types of information through automatic data collection tools including cookies, pixel tags, Web beacons, embedded Web links, and other commonly used information gathering tools (“Automatic Data Collection Tools”). These Automatic Data Collection Tools collect certain information including, but not limited to, information such as your web requests, Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request, referring/exit pages and URLs, platform type, number of clicks, domain names, landing pages, pages viewed and the order of those pages, cookies that may uniquely identify your browser, and elements employed in the Mobile Applications. Quin may use your IP address to identify you, to administer the Site and to assist in diagnosing problems with Quin’s server. Quin may also uses Google Analytics to track statistics and user behaviour on the Site.

COOKIES

A cookie is a piece of information that a Web site transfers to an individual's hard drive for record keeping purposes. Cookies make Web-surfing easier for you by saving your passwords, purchases, and preferences while you're at our site. The use of cookies is an Industry standard, and you'll find cookies at most major websites.

EXAMPLES OF HOW QUIN.DESIGN USES COOKIES

Quin Design website uses cookies to store the following information: the last time you logged in, your username and password, and your preferred "topic view", if you set it in preferences. These cookies are stored on your browser. Also, you need to have cookies enabled in your browser if you want to enter a private forum or shop at quin.design. Quin Design also uses cookies to let the computer remember that you've registered, which allows us to speed up your future activities at our sites. Cookies are not used to track your movement or perform any function other than to enhance your use of our site. If a user rejects cookies or their browser does not support cookies, they may still use our site, but the user will be limited in some areas of our site and will not be able to purchase items through our Superstore.

LOG FILES

We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

SHARING

We will share aggregated demographic information with our partners and advertisers. This is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person. We use an outside shipping company to ship orders, and a credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes. We partner with another party to provide specific services. When the user signs up for these services, we will share names, or other contact information that is necessary for the third party to provide these services.

These parties are not allowed to use personally identifiable information except for the purpose of providing these services.

This web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this website.

NEWSLETTER

If a user wishes to subscribe to our newsletter, we ask for contact information such as name and e-mail address.

SURVEY AND CONTESTS

From time-to-time our site requests information from users via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information. Information requested may include contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code, age level). SECURITY POLICY

The importance of security for all personally identifiable information associated with our Guests is of utmost concern. We exercise great care in providing secure transmission of your information from your PC to our servers, utilizing encryption software. Only those employees who need access to your information in order to do their jobs are allowed access, each having signed compressive nondisclosure agreements, which provides explicit legal confidentiality protections. Any employee who violates our privacy and/or security policies is subject to disciplinary action, including possible termination and civil and/or criminal prosecution.

SPECIAL OFFERS

We send all new members a welcoming e-mail to verify password and username. Established members will occasionally receive information on products, services, special deals, and a newsletter. Out of respect for the privacy of our users we present the option to not receive these types of communications.

SITE AND SERVICE UPDATES

We also send the user site and service announcement updates. Members are not able to un-subscribe from service announcements, which contain important information about the service. We communicate with the user to provide requested services and in regards to issues relating to their account via e-mail or phone.

CORRECTION/UPDATING PERSONAL INFORMATION

If a user's personally identifiable information changes (such as your zip code), or if a user no longer desires our service, we will endeavor to provide a way to correct, update or remove that user's personal data provided to us. This can usually be done at the member information page or by e-mailing our Customer Support.

CHOICE/OPT-OUT

Our users are given the opportunity to 'opt-out' of having their information used for purposes not directly related to our site at the point where we ask for the information. For example, our order form has an 'opt-out' mechanism so users who buy a product from us, but don't want any marketing material, can keep their e-mail address off of our lists. Users who no longer wish to receive our newsletter or promotional materials from our partners may opt-out of receiving these communications.
